|.:Everyone With An Eating Disorder Is Underweight FALSE:.
The majority of people with eating disorders are at an average weight. the myth that all people with disordered eating are thin is just bullshit projected by the media. We've all seen the anorexic girl running endlessly around the track of school, looking bony and frail like she's about to pass out. but this is rather unusual, believe it or not. Infact, the most common eating disorder is compulsive overeating, and many sufferers of this ED are overweight.
.:The Thinner You Are, The More Severe Your Eating Disorder Is. FALSE:.
A 140 pound anorexic may be just as sick as a 50 pound anorexic. The weight is NOT the issue, the behaviour is. Of course, being a low weight can have a devistating effect on the body, but so can any disordered eating. One person's body may just react faster to the new eating habits than someone elses, it doesnt mean thier problem is any more/less severe than someone else's.
.:People With Eating Disorders Are Vain And Full Of Themselves. FALSE:.
The fact that someone is putting themselves through the pain and suffering of having an ED is a sure sign that they are absolutely NOT happy with themselves. EDs are a form of self-torture, and no-one who thought anything good about themselves would do this.
